Overview

MMS Mirchi Madras Streat is a vibrant Indian restaurant nestled in the heart of Docklands, Melbourne, offering an authentic taste of South Indian and Tamil cuisine. Located at 11/2 Waterview Walk, this spot captures the essence of traditional street food with a modern urban vibe, appealing both to locals and visitors craving genuine Indian flavors.

The menu is a well-curated blend of classic dishes and regional specialties that showcase the depth of South Indian culinary heritage. The Cheese Chilli Dosa stands out as a perfect balance of crispy texture and spicy, cheesy filling—a treat for dosa lovers seeking something beyond the usual. Parathas, especially the celebrated Kizhi Parotta, deliver a flaky, layered bite infused with aromatic spices, best enjoyed alongside a cold, refreshing mango lassi that cuts through the heat and complexity.

Meat lovers will appreciate the tender Goat Curry and Dum Parotta, which carry robust, slow-cooked flavors, while the Chicken Kothu Parotta offers a satisfying, hearty meal reflecting street food culture with its vibrant spices and textures. Vegetarians are well-catered to as well, with options like the Veg Thali and Veg Biryani that bring variety and balance with wholesome, flavorful ingredients.

Many diners praise the speed and friendliness of service, with a welcoming atmosphere that makes it an inviting spot for quick takeaways or relaxed dining. Although the interior can feel quite warm and the parking situation around Docklands might be a bit tricky, the overall experience is well worth it. The restaurant strikes a fine balance between authentic taste and approachable hospitality, touching on both comfort and celebration in every bite.

For those eager to explore beyond the well-known, MMS Mirchi Madras Streat offers unique culinary adventures such as their Jeera Samba Biryani—a fragrant, distinct take on traditional biryani that has garnered glowing recommendations. The restaurant’s lively ambiance, complete with thoughtfully selected music, adds to the dining experience, creating a sense of connection to South Indian culture right in Melbourne’s urban setting.

In essence, MMS Mirchi Madras Streat is well-suited for food enthusiasts who appreciate authentic Indian cooking served with sincerity. I went there after many recommendations from my south indian friends. I must say I never had any biryani like Jeera Samba (Jeera Rice Biryani). It was definitely worth trying. Will definitely recommend them. Will definitely be going back to try other items on the menu.

After a long while, having a proper Tamil and tastier dine in Melb cbd. We had an unlimited tiffin pack which is most worth it for 19.99 and the Poratta pottalam which is top notch. The taste of poori and masala was not upto expectation, other than that we’re satisfied and fulfilled. I was literally enjoying and vibing to your music list and will visit you soon again…Cheers!!
